In class this week, we created our own composite pictures depending on the genre you choose. I was creating my own example on fashion after practicing by using a soccer player as an example.

Making a mood board was my first experience with images; the guide was again followed, and it went really well. That was also fascinating and a lot of fun. The soccer player was harder, though. It took me some time to get used to new tools and make everything as perfect as I could, despite the fact that I followed a guide. But with further assistance from my classmates and teacher, I managed to get through it. I was really pleased with how far I had come in understanding how to use Photoshop so far.

It was toughest for me when it came to making my own peace. In addition to combining the information I gained from the mood board project with my experience as a practicing soccer player, I also experimented with new tools and occasionally improvised when ideas occurred to me. While difficult, I'm still happy with how things came out.

The images that I have used from internet:

The tools that I have used were:

  • Crop tool

  • Object selection tool

  • Brush tool

  • Text tool

  • Rectangle tool

The process:

I started by adding the main background.

I then cut out the lady that was a main model of the image. Convert it to layer mask.

I added white squares, those were kind of my base for other pictures, and later I made them into frames of 'polaroids'.

I put all the pictures in the squares, and change the color to more beige to match the color palette.

I finished by adding a shadow on the model's body so she does not look out of picture, completed the 'frames', and finished up by drawing some details with brush tool.

I believe my comfort level with Photoshop and its features has increased. My ability to design my own piece and my prior knowledge enabled me to produce my own final product. Even though it was challenging at times and I didn't know what to do when I ran into an issue, I eventually discovered a solution and I believe my work was successful. I'm hoping it will take me less time and be a little bit more accurate when it comes to making a composite image from my own photos!

Final result!
